Philosophy

The goal of this course is to offer students rich, mathematical problem solving experiences while emphasizing thinking skills and cooperation.AP Statistics has been designed to present the mathematics that students need to have in order to be prepared for the AP Statistics exam. Students are exposed to four broad conceptual themes: Exploring Data (observing patterns and departures from patterns), Planning a Study (deciding what and how to measure), Anticipating Patterns (producing models using probability and simulation) and Statistical Inference (confirming models).  While emphasizing these topics, this course will integrate technology into the study of mathematics through the use of graphing calculators and computers.
