RHHS Homecoming Preparations, October 8, 1999
The paragraph below, creatively (with emphasis on creatively!) written by AP Statistics students Jennifer Antelman and Christine Rermgosakul, introduces some snapshots of the hallways at RHHS, which were decorated for the 1999 homecoming festivities, whose theme was Through the Decades.
Through the Decades
Whether participating in sports, decorating, or expressing their flower power, Mrs. Messengers students always have statistics on their minds. In the following pictures, these students are not thinking solely about the fun they will have at homecoming, the pep rally, the football game, or even the fact that school classes get out early. These wide ranges of smiles (able to be graphed on a box-and-whiskers plot) are only, and truly, for statistics. Notice each students eyesthey're thinking about SRS, mean deviation, factorial probability, and correlation coefficients. And if you were to ask each one of them, they would concur that statistics rule their lives thanks to the inspiration of Mrs. Messengers powerful and wonderful class. So when the flash finally went off and the content smiles beamed, Cheese was not uttered; the smile-saying, of course, was (and I quote from the fine teacher herself), Statistics is sexy!
