Simple Voice Journal Privacy

Last updated: September 17, 2026

Simple Voice Journal is designed to let you keep personal journal entries and notes while keeping your information under your control.

Information stored by the app

Simple Voice Journal may store information that you enter or create, including:

  • Names or labels you use for the people you journal about
  • Journal questions
  • Journal entries and separate notes, including their transcribed text
  • Moods associated with journal entries
  • Reminder settings
  • Dates and times
  • Location information, if you choose to allow the app to capture your location when making a journal entry
  • Audio recordings of your journal entries and notes

iCloud syncing

If you are signed in to iCloud, Simple Voice Journal uses Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services to synchronize information between your devices. This may include journal transcripts, moods, dates and times, customized questions, subject names, reminder settings, location information when you have chosen to save it, and information about a journal entry currently in progress.

This information is stored in your private CloudKit database. Apple states that, by default, only the user can access the contents of a private CloudKit database and that its contents are not visible to the app developer through the CloudKit developer portal.

Audio recordings are not synchronized through CloudKit. They remain on the device on which they were recorded.

Information stored or processed using iCloud and CloudKit is subject to Apple’s privacy and security practices.

Speech transcription

Simple Voice Journal uses Apple’s speech-recognition services to convert your spoken journal entries and notes into text. Depending on your device, language, settings, and Apple’s speech-recognition system, speech recognition may be performed on the device or may involve Apple’s services.

Location

If you give Simple Voice Journal permission to use your location, the app can save location information with journal entries. Location access is optional. You can control the app’s access to location services through the privacy settings on your device.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, Simple Voice Journal uses Apple’s notification system to provide the reminders you schedule. Notifications are optional and can be controlled through your device settings.

Information collected by the developer

Simple Voice Journal does not require you to create an account with the developer.

The developer does not operate a server that collects or stores your journal entries, notes, audio recordings, moods, or location information.

The app does not use your journal information for advertising, marketing, or tracking.

Exporting your information

You can choose to export journal entries and notes as text. Once you export or share information from the app, its handling depends on where you choose to save or send it.

Information about other people

Simple Voice Journal can be used to keep notes or journal entries about other people. You are responsible for deciding what information to record and share and for using the app in a manner appropriate to your circumstances.

Changes to this privacy statement

This privacy statement may be updated if Simple Voice Journal changes in a way that affects how information is stored, processed, or shared. The current version will be available on the Messenger Connection website.
